A friendly team of extraterrestrial researchers is searching the universe
for signs of intelligent life —
but understanding human behavior proves to be their greatest challenge.

Hello Humans! is an episodic animated series that follows a hand-picked crew of alien scientists who come to Earth in an attempt to make contact with humanity. But their efforts continually end in failure: humans behave in truly baffling ways. They’re preoccupied with their own problems, chasing something called “happiness,” while simultaneously destroying themselves — and completely ignoring the aliens who are standing right in front of them.

The series uses humor and an outsider’s perspective to offer a playful yet revealing look at our own strange behavior, inviting us to reflect.

…or at least laugh at ourselves.

Story

After a failed first contact attempt, the aliens decide to send a new, elite research team back to Earth. Their task is anything but simple: before initiating meaningful contact, they must first understand the basics of human behavior. They’re assigned the support of H.E.L.P.E.R., an AI simulation program based on data collected from Earth. However, H.E.L.P.E.R. causes more confusion than assistance—making even the journey to Earth a challenge. Once they arrive, they attempt to contact what they believe to be a human leader: a physical education teacher at a school.

In the following episodes, the team experiments with understanding sleep, nutrition, physical activity, and other human habits—all in an effort to decode what “happiness” might mean. Meanwhile, H.E.L.P.E.R. experiences an identity crisis, chooses the name “Giacomo Casanova,” and begins flirting with one of the crew members. The galaxy’s top intergalactic liaison agent joins the team but mistakenly establishes his first successful contact with a group of chimpanzees. As the mission progresses, the researchers dig deeper into human nature, discovering that people often act against their basic instincts, guided instead by contradictory and invisible internal goals—such as the pursuit of happiness.

Later in the series, the aliens begin conducting more direct experiments: they play sports on the Moon and venture into a crowded city, where one of them engages in conversation with a homeless man who claims to be from Jupiter. H.E.L.P.E.R. becomes increasingly unpredictable, eventually having a meltdown during a team-building retreat on Mars. He challenges a crewmate to a duel and is ultimately shut down. Despite the many misunderstandings and disappointments, the team decides to make another attempt at establishing contact with humans—hopeful, and now a little wiser.
